Activities and Safety

At the last AWANA club meeting when we have the AWANA hike, a child fell on the ground had hurt his face. From this experience, I see that we are not that well prepared for accidents or emergency. So here’s some procedures for outdoor activities and emergency.

Before trip preparation

1) Waiver form signed for each child
2) Bring the waiver form with you during the activities
3) Hand in a copy of the name list to the church office (or adult fellowship at church). Keep the name list handy.
4) Give them a cell phone number for them to locate or contact you.
5) Bring with you a first aid kit, water, cell phone

When accident/ incidents occur

1) Apply first aid
2) Inform club director/ Pastor.
3) Phone in church and inform child’s parent.
4) If the child need to sent home/ to hospital, have an adult accompanying
5) Give an accident report about the details of the incident, whether it’s minor or major.
6) The remaining group move on with their activities but pray for the injured person.

Always remember to have a head count, and name check to ensure all children are safe and present.
Children should never leave the group and be on their own. They should be within sight when playing at the field.
I will always drive a car to the location so that in case of emergency ride to hospital or home is available.
